Blanket of Ghosts

A new artist that I’m really digging is Dustin Kensrue from Thrice. He just released a solo album and it’s a nice mellow CD with some great lyrics that I’m going to be rocking in my classroom this fall.

Beautiful Scandalous Night

How great of a name for a song is “Beautiful Scandalous Night?” Maybe it’s the geek in me that loves to play with words to create mental images but I’m amazed by the name of this song. Simply amazing.

I just head Bobbie Seay Band cover this but I was unable to find a  YouTube clip of their version so I’m posting Leigh Nash’s version instead. If you want to hear Bobbie Seay Band’s version you can dowload their entire album for free this week courtesy of Relevant Magazine. Enjoy :)

Another Josh Garrels Clip

Posted in Christian, Music, YouTube by Ryan on July 30th, 2007

I posted a YouTube clip of Josh Garrels last week and I came across another gem that I wanted to post. This clip is of him performing “Freedom” and I’m hoping I can find an MP3 version of this performance on the ‘net. Can someone help me out with this?

I have a hard time getting into Christian artists so I’m stoked to find two artists this summer that I can blast from my iPod. The first was Jeremy Camp (who I’ve gotten my buddies hooked on as well) and the latest is a new artist called Josh Garrels. His official site has some free MP3’s you can download and I embedded a YouTube clip of my favourite song (Joyful Boy ) so that you can check him out doing a live performance. Enjoy!

Jeremy Riddle

This week I came across new Christian artist Jeremy Riddle and he instantly became my favourite artist because unlike most Christian artists he talented vocally and lyrically. One of my big challenges is a Christian is watching the kind of music I listen to and I’ve always used the excuse that because I’m so passionate about music I can’t settle for something subpar just because it’s released by a Christian label. Jeremy Riddle is one of the few Christian artists who’s stuff I play because of the great lyrics and the fact that it’s some great music.

You can check out his official site by clicking here and watch his video for “Sweetly Broken” by clicking on the link below. Enjoy!
